Are you going on with Jesus
Streams are rising and the storm gets stronger and without fail is that little dark cloud that throws itself like a blanket over you with such force and yet, without you knowing how it ever got there in the first place.  Nonetheless, the light of Christ pierces through as His rays of light penetrate any level of darkness that could ever rise up against you.

"Here I am send me..."  I said to Him not long ago.  A natural response from someone who has known true love.  However, it is a response that not only demands action, boldness, and discipline, but also opposition!!!  Here is a quote from Oswald Chanbers that really blessed my heart:

"Are you going on with Jesus?  The way goes through Gethsemane, through the city gate, and on "outside the camp" (Hebrews 13:13).  The way is lonely and goes on until there is no longer even a trace of a footprint to follow -- but only the voice saying, "follow Me" (Matthew 4:19)."

I am blessed by the testimonies of friends and others who are walking closely with the Lord Jesus Christ - who are "going on with Jesus".  The rewards of walking in obedience to the Lord, in obedience to our calling (and every believer is called to serve at home or abroad) is beyond anything the world has ever known.  I have gotten a taste of it and I want more.  I am thirsty to know him more and to continue falling in love with the one who is called Love!  Storms will come and go but the Lord has always been, is and will always be our Rock and the King of kings that stays true to His Word!

LIfe in Bolivia

Align Center

Life is going alright, apart from all the normal illnesses that one can come in contact in a third-world country. However, the Lord is doing some amazing things here and I am glad I get to be a part of it. I am especially enjoying the Candelero Kids Ministry which is a hard but very rewarding ministry. I have had the opportunity to visit some sights out in the country which has been very exciting. The picture above is a touristic place about 40min outside the city of Tarija and you can enjoy a nice BBQ and a refreshing swim in this beautiful river.

.

I also had the chance to visit a place called San Jacinto which is a huge dam from which the city of Tarija gets its water supply from.

One of the sports the kids love out here, like in any other Latin American country, is soccer. The above two kids are brothers (Aldo and Jose Luis) and they are both really good at playing soccer.

We also get some very incredible storms out here and our kids center got flooded because the wind was strong and the water was coming in through the doors and windows.

Bolivia is very rich in culture and they hold many festivities throughout the year. The following are some pictures of special folkloric dances on the streets.

Experiencing Bolivian culture has been very interesting in that on the surface it seems like just another Latin American country but once you start getting to know them, you find out how different they are - a very warm people.

Street Kids Ministry

I have been enjoying the kids at El Candelero Kids!!! They are a great bunch and in so much need of someone to love them and care for them. Here are a couple of pictures of the kids at the El Candelero Kids Center. We are doing two full weeks of activities which include:
  • Daily Bible Verse memorizing
  • Memorizing the books of the Bible (old and new testament)
  • copying chapters of the Bible (so that it sinks in)
  • Sports - soccer, basketball, etc.
  • Extra duties around the center
For all these, they win points (fake money) which they will get to use to buy goodies at the end of the two weeks. In the picture above - they are trying to earn points by copying chapters from the book of Proverbs.

Above and to my right is Alejandro - a new little boy I have met whose mom died not too long ago. Him and four other siblings are pretty much left orphans - though his dad lives, he doesn't live with them. He is a great kid who is full of energy and loves to give hugs.

God Sees Me!

"You are the God who sees me... I have now seen the One who sees me."
(Gen. 16:13)

It is amazing to know that the Lord Jesus Christ is not like any other God who is mute or one that does not hear us or sees us. He is the God Almighty who sees us and cares for us. We need Him in this fallen world for all this world has to offer is death and destruction; it is out steal from us - steal the abounding life we have in Jesus Christ.

God sees our suffering and our accomplishments, our pain and our joy, our laughter and our tears, etc. Nothing goes by without God being in Control and Him knowing about it for He is all Knowing. However, He has created us with the capability to respond to His saving grace - He has giving us the freedom to make choices in our lives. If I belong to Him I am not only seen by Him but I can also see Him and talk with Him - have a relationship with Him.

"Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see."
Mat 12:22

Because He sees me, I am not crushed, despaired, abandoned or destroyed; I belong to Him and no one else. He is my Lord and Savior whom I worship and love - He is Jesus Christ!
